Moral Boundaries

Posted by John Glinski on April 15, 2008 - 3:10pm

Have you ever wondered what is God's plan for your life? Is it a narrow path that he's picked out the perfect job, the perfect friends, the perfect match for you? Is it a strict set of dos and don'ts - rules for perfect living? Is it a life of freedom with only a few restrictions to save you from pain? Does God even really care what you do with your life?

It is important for us to ask these questions while we're young, so that we can make key decisions for our lives. Regardless of how loose or strict God's plan for us may be, we definately know that he wants us to make decisions to protect ourselves from the power of peer-pressure and the worldliness in our culture today. (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7)

This spring, we're exploring what God wants for each of us. We'll discover just how much God cares for each of us, as well as what he desparately wants for our lives. Join us for Bible Talks and activities to encourage us to find the boundaries God has designed to give us freedom from sin.

Teens - Spiritual Discipline

Posted by John Glinski on November 27, 2007 - 10:43am

This fall, the teens are digging into the concept of "Spiritual Discipline." Whether you want to graduate, get your dream job, or make it to the moon, it takes discipline to achieve your dreams.

With our spiritual lives, it's no different. God wants to see us succeed, and has given us everything we need to see our spiritual dreams fulfilled. (Eph 1:3, 2 Tim 3:17)

Even still, it takes discipline for us to put to use those spiritual gifts God has given us. Becoming a Christian - and staying faithful through the trials of life - is not one big decision we make in life. Instead it is the sum of every decision we make, big or small, to choose right over wrong, good over evil, God over self. (Luke 9:23-25)

We're exploring the importance of regular prayer and Bible study in shaping our character and our future. We'll see how God transforms us into the people we want to become through his word, and how this will help us to see his good, pleasing, and perfect will. (Rom 12:2)
