"I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" Mark 9:24

As an American citizen we enjoy the freedom to be able to practice our devotion to God freely. Unfortunately today, many have adopted the practice of religion and not righteousness. This has contributed to millions of Americans giving up on God altogether. Many of those who give up on God site hypocrisy as the main reason they leave God. This was the case with David Rosas. David, a Biochemistry senior at TX State University, chose agnosticism after experiencing the disastrous effect of religious hypocrisy in his own life. His family was torn apart by a stepfather who supposedly had found religion and overcome alcoholism through it. Unfortunately for Davids family, a lack of discipling and focus on seeking righteousness in this particular religious group led his stepfather to a false since of security and eventually right back into alcoholism. After witnessing this David chose to leave God altogether, but God still had a plan for David. After years of wondering and questioning, one of David's friends Enoch Gowarty became a baptized disciple. After seeing Enoch's radical change and the lives of the disciples Davids heart opened up to the possibility that this was the real thing. After months of studying the bible and praying for God to help him have faith, David's faith in God grew and his conviction over his sin grew. On October 5, 2008 David was baptized into Christ! God will truly help us with our unbelief if we seek it.
